At ignition inclusion the electronic ABS/EBD control unit (ECU) carries out monitoring of a condition of components of each of contours of both systems. In case of violation identification in memory of the processor the corresponding code of malfunction is brought, and in a combination of devices of the car the corresponding control lamp (ABS or brake system) is activated.
Reading kept in memory of the block of codes can be made by means of the special Hi-scan pr scanner connected to fixed on the case of an air purifier, to the diagnostic DLC socket equipped with a protective cover (see. Power supply systems, managements of engine/decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases and production of the fulfilled gases).
Switch off ignition and connect the scanner to DLC.
Include ignition and choose in the scanner menu the correct name of brand and model of the car (KIA Sportage).
After initialization of the scanner choose an interrogated element.
Activate procedure of a conclusion of codes of malfunctions (No. 1), - on the screen of the scanner all will start to be deduced being stored in memory of the processor of the module of management four-unit DTC.

Codes will continue to be deduced until memory of the processor will not be cleared. |
Make necessary corrections, then clear memory of the processor.

Memory cleaning
|

Having eliminated malfunction, make sure of serviceability of functioning of under control system (ABS/EBD), then activate procedure of cleaning of memory of the processor, - No. point of 4 menus, - and press the Enter key (Input) on the scanner keyboard.
