Features of operation of the cars equipped with automatic transmission (AT)
On cars considered in the real Management 4-step AT with electronic control is established. The lever of the AT selector is located in the lower part of the central console.
AT selector lever, principle of switching of modes
The conclusion of the lever of the selector from the situation "P" can be made only at the included ignition, the squeezed-out pedal of a foot brake and the pressed button of removal of fixing.

It is not necessary to increase engine turns at the chosen mode of advance or back and the pressed pedal of a brake. Transmission switching from the situation "N" "/P" in working provisions should be made on single turns of the engine, - hold a pedal of a foot brake of the pressed! |
Indicators of position of the AT selector
The lever of the selector of ranges of transmission can be in one of six fixed provisions.

In structure of a combination of devices of the models equipped with automatic transmission the additional display lamps allowing the driver are built in it is easy to supervise position of the selector of ranges of AT (see. Section Combination of devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators).
Purpose of positions of the lever of the AT selector

Start of the engine is possible only in the positions "P" and "N" of the lever. If the stop of the car is made, when AT is in one of movement ranges («D», «2», «L», «R», or «N»), is necessary to release completely a pedal of gas and to squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake, or to cock the parking brake. |

When translating the lever of the selector of the situation "N" in any of movement provisions surely squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake. |
Situation "R"
|
|
Before an exit from the car do not forget to cock the parking brake also. |
|
|
Key extraction from the lock of ignition becomes possible only after transfer of the lever of the selector to the situation "R". |
In this position of the lever of the selector blocking of transmission and driving wheels of the car is made. Transfer of transmission to parking situation should be made only after a full stop of the car.

Moving of the lever of the selector to the situation "P" during movement leads to blocking of driving wheels, and also is interfaced to risk of serious internal damages of transmission! |
For a conclusion of transmission of the situation "R" it is necessary to squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake and to press the button of removal of fixing on the lever.
Situation "R"
This position of the lever of the AT selector is used for movement by a backing.

Transmission switching in the situation "R" during advance is interfaced to risk of serious internal damages! If the backing does not join after a full stop of the car, squeeze out a brake pedal and slowly move the selector lever at first to the situation "N", then in the situation "R". |
Situation "N"
In the AT this provision of a wheel and transmission are not blocked and the car can be moved freely, a kacheniye method at any provision of a transfer case.
Use the situation "N" at start of under way decayed engine, and also at short stops of the car with working engine. If there is a need for an exit from the car, do not forget to transfer the lever to the situation "R" previously.
At a lever conclusion of the situation "N" do not forget to squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake.
Situation "D"
This situation is used in most cases at movement in the conditions of not loaded city cycle and on highways. In this situation the full range of switching of forward transfers with maintenance of an optimum ratio capacity/fuel consumption is used, and in the corresponding situations the mode of braking by the engine automatically joins.

For the purpose of improvement of efficiency of return of not heated-up engine AT switching the 4th transfer at temperature of cooling liquid below 70°С is blocked. |
Squeezing of a pedal of gas with overcoming of a point of resistance leads to activation of the kickdown mode leading to automatic switching of transmission on a low gear for the purpose of increase of acceleration performance, for example when overtaking.
Situation "2"
In this situation the range of automatic switchings of transmission is limited by the 1st and 2nd transfers.
It is recommended for selection of bigger capacity at movement uphill, and also for braking by the engine on descents. Besides, in this mode the probability of pro-slipping of wheels on a slippery paving decreases. Switching from the 2nd transfer on 1st occurs at speed of movement below 43 km/h. The top limit of speed of movement in this mode makes 60 km/h.

Situation "L"
This mode is recommended to use at towage of heavy cargoes, or movement on a steep slope. The top limit of speed of movement in a mode "L" makes 35 km/h.

Winter mode (HOLD)

When driving with use of the HOLD mode do not exceed the most admissible value of turns of the engine! |
HOLD is in fact a winter mode and it is recommended to use at a start of motion on a slippery paving, and also for braking by the engine on abrupt descents.
Activation of the HOLD mode leads to change of algorithm of gear shifting at movement in position "D" of the lever of the selector, - the range of switchings will be limited by two transfers: «2» and «3», i.e., the car troganiye from a place will be made from the second transfer with the subsequent switching on the 3rd.

HOLD mode activation in positions "2", "L" and "R" of the lever does not influence in any way algorithm of switchings of AT. |
The button of inclusion of a mode is on the handle of the lever of the selector directly under larger button of removal of fixing. Serviceability of activation of a mode proves to be true inclusion built in the left side of a combination of devices of the light indicator (see. Section Combination of devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators). Shutdown of a mode is made by means of the same button, - the indicator should go out.

Sports mode (POWER)
The switch of the AT sports mode is located on the dashboard, to the right of a steering column (see. Section Governing bodies and salon equipment).
At normal driving the sports mode should be disconnected, - thus gear shifting will be made on the algorithm providing the maximum economy of fuel (the position "ESO" of the push-button switch).
Activation of a sports mode (the position "POWER" of the switch) is possible only in positions "D" "2" or "L" of the lever of the selector, and in two last cases algorithm of switchings of a box will not change. In position "D" of the lever activation of the POWER mode leads to a delay of switching of transmission on raising transfers, i.e., switching will occur at higher turns of the engine that provides the best dynamics of the car.

Blocking of switchings and emergency conclusion of the lever of the selector from the situation "P"

Key extraction from the lock of ignition is possible only in the position "R" of the selector lever of transmission. |
For the purpose of safety of the driver and passengers of AT it is equipped with system of the blocking preventing possibility of a conclusion of the lever of the selector from the situation "P" at the released pedal of a foot brake.
Squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake, start the engine / include ignition, then (without releasing a pedal) press the button of removal of fixing on the handle and transfer the lever to demanded situation.

If several times in a row to press and release a brake pedal in the parking provision of transmission, in the field of the lever of the selector there can be a noise which is not a sign of malfunction and should not cause concern. |
At refusal of removal of blocking (to deduce the lever from the situation "R" by normal way it is not possible) act as follows:
Having hooked a screw-driver, remove a cap from an opening of emergency unblocking, in the facing panel of the lever, to the right of the last, insert into this opening the ignition key and press on it down (see
an illustration);
Press the button of removal of fixing, and deduce the selector lever from the situation "P";
